| The new millennium continues Skaala’s position as an innovative, high-quality producer in the market. The company has expanded production facilities and updated the production planning systems. Door frames and interior doors have been taken into production. |
Skaala opened new door production facility in August 2006. The ECB Chief Executive (today the Speaker of the Parliament), Mr. Sauli Niinistö was present at the ceremeony. |
| During the last years Skaala has invested strongly in low energy product development. Skaala was the first to develope a special 2+2 glazing structure in order to make the energy consumption of the window very low. Skaala was the first manufacturer to obtain the official A-class energy efficiency certificate in Finland. Skaala’s development within low energy products has been noticed and the company is a clear market leader within low energy windows in Finland. |
| The development of low energy solutions was rewarded by the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers (RIL) in 2007 for Skaala's development of low energy windows and doors for the first low energy apartment house project in Finland. The reward was awarded by the President of Finland. |
| As a result of many years of research and development, Skaala opened the first window production line only for low energy windows in 2008. No other manufacturer has done that so far. |
|
The Minister of Housing, Mr. Jan Vapaavuori opened the Skaala Energy-Line in March 2008.
|
| More success followed in early 2009 when Skaala’s low energy Alfa window won the grand window test conducted by the highly respected Finnish technical magazine, Tekniikan Maailma (TM). Skaala’s window was the only window to reach all five stars as an outcome of the test. Skaala’s Alfa window was also the only window tested of which U-value held true during the test. High grades were also given for the dB-value. |
| Today Skaala is one of the biggest window and door manufacturers in Scandinavia and a clear market leader in low energy solutions in Finland. Skaala’s range of products and the whole manufacturing process is designed to meet the challenging demands of today’s world when environment and green values have become important issues to all of us. |
