New Gorbals – Skaala’s biggest project passing halfway
Skaala’s grand deal with the New Gorbals Housing Association is about to enter its final half. In total, Skaala will deliver and assemble some 20.000+ windows over a period of one year – making the project “the biggest ever” in Skaala’s export history. The deal itself is part of government funded project aiming to end fuel poverty. Besides the new and highly energy efficient windows, New Gorbals buildings will get modern insulation and heating system.
Although the project is quite complicated – thinking about manufacturing in Finland, shipping to Glasgow, assembling under tight timelines in diverse conditions – everything has worked pretty well. This is all thanks to everyone’s commitment to the project. Challenging situations have been tackled with cooperation and open mind – and some stretching as well.
Skaala is expecting to finish the project by the end of the year 2014.
